Ashmore Family

Hi Family,
I hope I am not the only one that is very excited about a change coming in America with our new President-Elect Barak Obama! I cried when they announced that he had won the presidency. I thought about all of our foreparents who fought and were beaten for the right to vote. I also thought about Dr. King and the struggles he endured for blacks to be treated equal. Yes, I am glad that a black man won! But, it's like Chris Rock said,"It's not just because he is black, but because he is black and qualified." But Family, remember this, just as we prayed that he would become president, we must pray that the Lord continues to hold him in the hollow of His hand and lead him to make wise decisions. To me, it seems like he was ordained to become the president because it didn't matter what was thrown at him, it did not have the effect that people thought it should have on him. It seems like the Lord's hand has been on him all the way. The word says, "No weapon formed against me shall prosper." Keep praying for President Obama.

Lois Ann,
Thank you for commenting on the election. I Have been jumping for joy every since. I do agree with you, he is a highly qualified, highly educated, and highly intelligent young man. This is in strong contrast to what is now in the White House. I hope and pray that all of our young African American Men will stand up and take note for him. He is a shining example of what we should try and be like, a wonderful example. God put him her for a reason, Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow. Love Ya and Hope to see you soon.
